  • Brian spent 15 years writing and researching a biography of Gene Wilder entitled "Gene Wilder: Funny and Sad," which was published in 2010 by BearManor Media.
  • As a freelance writer, Brian has interviewed dozens of celebrities and politicians including directors Arthur Hiller ("Silver Streak") and Mel Stuart ("Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory"), former New York Governor Mario Cuomo, and former New York Mayor Ed Koch, who gave Brian one of his final interviews months before his death.
  • "Confessions of a Male Prostitute" is a 1992 short film Brian wrote, produced, and directed that received a rave review from Rex Reed, who wrote, "This short film is so good I would be very keen to see what [Brian Scott Mednick comes] up with in the next few years."


Brian wrote, produced, and directed numerous film and video productions while a student at NYU film school. He has reviewed film and theater for such publications as Show Business Weekly and Good Times. Brian was a regular contributor to the Jewish Voice where he interviewed such notable figures as actor Martin Landau, comedienne Marilyn Michaels, and 2013 GOP New York mayoral candidate John Catsimatidis. In addition to his Gene Wilder biography, Brian is also the author of the anthology "Drinking Games...and Other Stories" and the novel "Unnecessary Headaches." After many years of freelance writing about arts and culture, film, television, and media, Brian joined Elasq where he thrives covering films and TV shows from the 1980s, as well as legendary stars such as Paul Newman.


Brian received a B.F.A. in Film and Television from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
